Besides their investiture into Scouting via one of the Groups sections, there are only two occasions each year that we expect each member of the Group to attend.

The first is the ”St George’s Day Parade” which is sometimes held with all the other Groups in the district on the afternoon of the Sunday nearest to April 23rd or we have a joint meeting on the nearest Monday.

The second event is the “Remembrance Day Parade” which is held in Horndean together with Horndean Scouts and Guides on the morning of the Sunday nearest to November 11th.

For both events, the Group expects all young people to wear ‘full uniform’.  For Beavers and Cubs, that is their normal jumpers and scarves with navy combat or school trousers and black shoes. Scouts should wear their normal shirts, scarves with lanyards and berets, together with grey/black trousers, grey socks and black shoes.  As the trousers, socks and shoes are part of normal school uniform for most young people; we do not feel that it is an inconsiderate request given the reasons for the two parades.

There could also be a number of District/County events throughout the year where your child would be representing the Group and could be asked to wear full uniform.

The relevant section Leader would send details of these events to you at the time.
